Photos and Videos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/UPbnqPWRyzKd91V56 Hey everyone! Today's email is going to have a bit of a different format because I have many things to do tonight. Here are a few highlights of the week… Highlights: We talked with Brother Mosweswe (the father of my trainee from Mochudi) and he told us all about how he started Gerald Branch, which was very cool. Hopefully, we can continue to work with him! We raced Lucia's (our recent convert) brother Puseletso, which was very funny. He was so sure he would win. I think the Makoa surprised him. Havea had to go to the dentist today, so that was a nice little morning adventure. We also got 9 lessons the same day, which was great. We went home-to-home finding in the car since it was 40°C, and we found a cool family that seems interested. We had a great lunch that the sisters prepared for us. There was a branch activity where we ate/cooked a lot of Pap and Meat, listened to music, and talked. It was a lot of fun and man...

Week #53 One Year!

pics and videos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ HBjCKtncnYWevJkE7 I'm short on time so that means that this week's email is going to be a highlight reel… enjoy. Tuesday: We met with Mmusi and his testimony is growing very quickly. I hope his parents come around and let him, Bogadi, And Boitshepo get baptized. Wednesday: Today was my official 1 year mark on mission!!! Elder Havea and I crushed a bunch of fried chicken to celebrate.  We were teaching a lady we found at her house about the Godhead. I explained that God has a body like us and shared Exodus 33:11 to show how Moses saw God face to face and spoke as a man speaks with his friend. She was very confused because she he thought  lived in heaven not earth, we got a kick out of that. We also found an inactive member family of 7. We set a time to meet with them so hopefully we can get to know them better. Thursday: Havea and I sat at the chapel for 30 minutes waiting for the other missionaries to come for our district council me...

Week #52 My New Companion Is A Mermaid

Image
https://photos.app.goo.gl/ g9LqcJxj6SQNwnN68 I had a pretty crazy week, with transfers, zone conference, preparing trainings, etc. Regardless of all that, it was still a pretty fun week! Tuesday: Nothing crazy happened today… we taught about 5 lessons. None of them had anything particularly amazing about them but they were good. As usual we had our weekly planning and branch council meeting which took up a lot of time out of our day. Wednesday: A bunch of lessons were canceled so we had to revert to my least favorite thing, door to door finding. It also didn't help that it was 31° C. Little did I know that this was only the beginning of Francistown heat. Regardless of all that we were still able to find 2 new people and have 3 lessons so it went well. We also had transfer news tonight! I'll be staying another transfer here in Gerald and Elder Havea (Tonga) will be replacing Elder Karp. My son, Elder Mosweswe is also opening a new area in Kanye as well as training. He's only...

Week #51 Mysterious God

Image
I'm writing this Email much too late so let us begin. Tuesday: Our P-Day was today instead of the usual Monday (yesterday). As always, we played a lot of board games and had an amazing meal cooked by the Youngs. The best senior couple ever! We also got the good news that the Church has approved all 3 branches here in F-Town to BUILD new chapels. We are holding church in such small houses right now so this is huge news!  Wednesday: We had an interesting experience in our first lesson today. The sister insisted on singing a gospel song before we started the lesson, “Mysterious God”. I don't want to be rude but the singing was not it and the song was also not it, Karp and I were pink and shaking uncontrollably on the verge of bursting out with laughter. I hope we composed ourselves before she noticed because she sung most of the song With her eyes closed anyways. Lucia's (recent convert) cousin Joseph (8) called us over before we started our lesson and then started peeing righ...

Week #50 Bewitched Blessings And Good Vibrations

Image
I'm writing this email today because my pday was switched from yesterday to today. I'm not bogus I promise. Tuesday: We had to run a few ZL errands in the morning but we got them out of the way pretty quickly. We also had our branch coordination and of course weekly planning. With the little time we had left in our day we still managed to get 4 lessons in, the highlight was our lesson with Onalethata. Her older sister, Lucia, is the one that we baptized a few weeks back, she is so helpful in the lessons and has such a strong testimony. It was a great lesson! Wednesday: We decided to go contact a member after our first lesson fell through. They explained to us how many people are bewitching them, using black magic on them, and summoning Tokoloshe (research for more information on these creatures) to torment them. We gave a blessing of comfort and they seemed to feel much better.  We also met with a member who's on the fence about returning to his old church in response to hi...
