Week #51 Mysterious God

I'm writing this Email much too late so let us begin.

Tuesday:

Our P-Day was today instead of the usual Monday (yesterday). As always, we played a lot of board games and had an amazing meal cooked by the Youngs. The best senior couple ever! We also got the good news that the Church has approved all 3 branches here in F-Town to BUILD new chapels. We are holding church in such small houses right now so this is huge news!

Wednesday:

We had an interesting experience in our first lesson today. The sister insisted on singing a gospel song before we started the lesson, “Mysterious God”. I don't want to be rude but the singing was not it and the song was also not it, Karp and I were pink and shaking uncontrollably on the verge of bursting out with laughter. I hope we composed ourselves before she noticed because she sung most of the song With her eyes closed anyways.

Lucia's (recent convert) cousin Joseph (8) called us over before we started our lesson and then started peeing right in front of us. Kids here have a weird obsession with peeing right in front of us. Idk why.

Thursday:

We had 7 lessons in a row cancel which was horrible, and 3 of them were in a village that we had to journey out of Gerald to get to. In the middle of that catastrophe we found a chinese food restaurant. It was surprisingly good and we will be making a return.

We put Mmusi, Bogadi, And Boitshepo (the cousins of our recent convert, Venolia) on date for the 29th of September today.

We also had the Maira couple (members) walk with us to the Louis family's home. They shared their testimonies and how they learned the BOM was true. It was a great lesson and we hope they get married soon, please pray for them.

Friday:

We had a district council meeting in the morning which went very well but it was 2 hours long. It was nice though and we were able to unify as a district a lot more. We had a decent amount of lessons today but none that really stuck out.

Saturday:

I joined the Monarch elders -Kerago(Ethiopia) and Sackie(Liberia) in their area, and Elder Karp took Ndambuki (Kenya) to our area. We had a lot of fun, taught a bunch of lessons, got to whip around on bikes, and find some new people. It was a lot of fun, and I got to know these elders a lot better.

Elder Kerago has a very powerful testimony about how he converted from Islam. He is an awesome missionary and I learned a lot from him today.

We met the sisters for a birthday dinner for Sister Mununga! It was a nice little district gathering to close the night.

Karp and Ndambuki were also able to put one of our friends, Sisi, on date for the 29th of September!

Sunday

We walked to church today with a bunch of our friends. We are finding some more committed people in Gerald which is amazing! Elder Karp and I also taught the Elders Quorum Class since the president was hio.  After walking back to the car and then eating lunch we taught about 6 more lessons in the afternoon/ evening. They all went well but again none of then particularly stuck out.

We also exceeded all of our goals again so that was a huge miracle. The area seems like it is really starting to come together now!

Monday:

We started the morning by getting some haircuts, grocery shopping, dropping missionaries off at the Youngs, and then the P-Day activities began. Farkle, Skull King, Jenga, Guitar, an amazing meal cooked by the Youngs, and some s'mores to top it off.

We contacted a few of our friends and then we joined the F-Town elders for a lesson. We had to finish running some surprise errands for the rest of the evening.

Conclusion:

Sorry for no spiritual thought this week but I love you and appreciate all the emails I received! I'll reply to them next week. Have an amazing week!

PS. Shoutout to my Mom for always sending these emails out when I'm done writing them.

Love Elder Miller
