Week #97 Blessings From Botswana

Hello again, that was a quick week! We had quite a bit of success this week and many of our friends are continuing to progress toward their baptismal dates!

We had some bike problems at the beginning of the week which delayed us a little bit but once the week got rolling we did well. We met with Dorothy/Definite lots and put Definite on date for the 27th of September. We also met with the Letsatsi/ Elliott families a few times and they're all on date for the 10th except for one who wants the 24th of August.

We've taught another sister a few times named Palesa. Well it turns out she's the cousin to Peaches, the one we baptized 2 Sundays ago! She told us she also wants to be baptized so we put her on date for the 10th.

Another sister we've been co-teaching with the Sisters, Precious, is also now on date for the 10th. We thought she'd be baptized in the other ward since she works as a house maid in that area most of the time. But since her actual residence is in our ward boundary, she'll be baptized with us.

We should have 4 baptisms on the 27th and 7 on the 10th if all goes well. Please pray for our friends

At one point during the week, we biked 15 kms to a village named Tloaneng, outside of our area. Between that and biking all over the area the whole day we must've hit 40kms. My comp was so dead haha.

We also had a service project with the ZL's where we went to the EQP's house and cleared out some garbage for him. He's building a man cave so we had to help him out of course, he's such a funny guy. It's awesome how the leadership in Botswana is all so young. He's only 29 so he relates a lot with the men and missionaries. We pulled a heist type maneuver with the ZL's as we threw all his garbage in a big dumpster bin on KFC property which they didn't like.

Otherwise, my son is a beast. He teaches great, knows how to cook, and is a cool guy. He's making it easy on me, I feel blessed to have him as my last comp. However, he did lose his phone during the week unfortunately. I guess that's what happens when you bike with it in your back pocket lol.

The biggest challenge is people reminding me at every minute of the day that I'm going home soon. It's hard enough not to think about home when you're this close so the daily reminders don't help that much.

Overall we had a good week and are seeing the hand of the Lord bless the work. I wish I could've served in this area for 9 months, I hope the next missionaries will be able to continue to keep the momentum that's building here!

P.S we played bball this morning with the locals and they were talking a lot of trash. Elder Adolphson, Elder Hansen, OT (local), and I were on a team and they couldn't knock us off the court until we left. We played on a 9 foot rim and I must've had at least 30 dunks. I also got to play some locals at snooker (pool) today and I clutched up to take the table from this one guy. We had a good pday

P.P.S sorry for the lack of photos, Elder Searle's phone was the area phone for the week until he lost it.

Have a good week y'all.

I've now seen a cat with a mustache and a dog with eyebrows.

Elder Searle and I getting creative with our games.
