Week #93 Last Week With The Walkers
Hey everyone, I promised I'd do better at photos this week and I think I did a little better so enjoy.

Tuesday:
I got extra studies in today while Gibb called the whole area book for weekly planning, he's very powerful. We started teaching the security guards at our flat and they seemed very very interested so that was cool.
Kikkert, Mosweswe, and a prospective Elder they're with named Hailey joined us part way through the day. The rest of the day was just mid lessons, ward council, and a couple good lessons to close the night. We also saw some cracked out guy wearing a ZCC (church) hat that looks like a police hat while he was shirtless and saluting us in the street.
We had like 8 other elders also sleep over at our flat since the zone conference is tomorrow. I made chapati for everyone and Mosweswe made stew, it slapped!
Wednesday:
We jammed 8 missionaries into a tiny ecosport and drove to the stake center for zone conference. All of the Botswana missionaries were there.
There were many great talks, trainings, and musical numbers as well as President and Sister Walker's final testimonies before they go home. President also asked us all to kneel and he offered a very powerful prayer! They're going to be very missed :/
After lunch and chatting with all of the missionaries we went home and taught a couple phone lessons because the rest of our lessons cancelled. We joined the F-Town zone at table 52 for dinner, it was my last time seeing my son Mathias before I go home which is crazy!
Thursday:
The morning started out by saying goodbye to Mosweswe as he goes back north to his area, he is my second son whom I will also never see again! I'll miss that boy.
We taught the security guard again, Bass Bass, and then a sister named Boago. We’re teaching her and her identical twin sister Loago who we think is the same person. We've never caught them together at the same time but they always ask the same questions. They're very fun to teach though because we can be very bold.
We biked 8 kms to Gabane for a few lessons, then back to Tsolamosese for 1 lesson. Bishop Nyepi joined us for the lesson with Habo and Peaches so we couldn't miss it. Then we biked 8 kms back to Gabane for another few lessons.
We still had a few guys staying the night who leave tomorrow morning.
Friday:
Pres and Sis Walker surprise joined my district council, we were honored to have them choose ours as their last ever. It was a pretty good council and we got some pics after.
We had a bunch of good lessons today and a few lessons that were just OK.
Today was a pretty regular day.
Saturday:
We had a zone service project at a farm that supplies food for an orphanage. From 8-12:30 we leveled dirt, removed grass, and planted sunflower seeds on their farm, it was fun but also tiring.
My dad Tolbert is back from Nam just for a week before he goes back home so we were hanging out for most of it, it was very fun to catch up.
A handful of us got lunch after, before going home to shower and change. We taught some good lessons and reminded a lot of people about church tomorrow. We also went finding with Brother Masutha. Our best lessons were with habo and Peaches as well as Sticks and Kefilwe. We also had the ZL’s do the interview for Faggie for her baptism tomorrow and she passed!
Sunday:
With the help of Masutha, Rampe, and us we managed to get 15 friends to church despite a lot of our regulars not showing up. Faggie and Kyle Ranpe were both baptized which was great, I got to baptize Faggie so that was amazing as always!
I had a horrible migraine since Friday evening so after church I almost didn't go out but nothing can stop the work so we pushed through. We taught a couple lessons then went finding with Brother Masutha and Rampe. These are two of the most powerful members in Botswana yet despite that, we still didn't have much success. We ended up at some “pastors” house that ate up all of our time and he couldn't understand simple scripture as we explained it to him. Either that or he just refused to believe anything that was contrary to his prior belief.
We taught a couple more lessons and went home.
Monday:
Adolphson, Tolbert, and Hansen picked Gibb and I up. Toutaiolepo and Asi picked tuia and we played sports at 6:30am. We ran up a bit of volleyball and then played Basketball against some locals. We destroyed them, Adolphson threw me a nasty lob as I drove from the baseline and I caught it and postered a guy. The rest of the game they were scared when we were driving at the rim.
We then chilled at the ZL flat for a few hours and then went to the stake center. We had a huge braii (BBQ) with the Walkers for their last pday. It was a lot of fun. Our lessons for the evening cancelled so I typed this up and called the fam.
Conclusion:
It was a decent week but not as much success teaching wise as other weeks. Hopefully we can do better next week and the mission leader shift will go smoothly! Love y'all!
