Dumelang Bo Rra le Bo Mma. Re tsogile jang?
This week has been a really great week, full of many pleasant surprises.
Tuesday:
Our day began with taking Elder Ngaue and Sister Francisco to the mission office for their departing lunches. On our way home we stopped at a food truck called “Rico's Taco's”, they were so bomb!
Once we arrived home we weekly planned and I packed a little since I knew I'd most likely be transferred.
We taught a lot of really great lessons, and said bye to our boy Chaka, that guy is a G, I'm so excited for his baptism.
We took the sisters to their member lesson and joined them. We dropped them at home after the lesson and then went to “267”. This was hands down the best food I've had on mission, delicious steaks, buttermilk fried chicken burgers with garlic aioli, Pork ribs, mocktails on the house. I was literally in heaven.
Wednesday:
We had a great lesson with Bobonong on the Glenn valley military base, first thing in the morning. After picking up stock from the mission office we went to drop off BOM's at a boutique in Sarona mall, they were referred to us by a member.
We met Mothusi (member in mochudi) at the bus rank and got Boys/Nam goodies from him, for the Kaspers. It was nice to chat and catch up with him.
We had some nice lessons with Rema/Monewa and Shatiso/ the Goitsemangs. We played setswana 30 seconds with the Goitsemangs and Wutkee and I beat them!! I have no clue how but it wasn't even close
Transfer calls were tonight, I'll be going back to Kanye for the 3rd time, I'll be in the ward (now branch 2) with Elder Nakale (Motswana). We're covering Kanye West and Kanye North areas. I'm very excited!
Thursday:
We taught a handful of nice lessons today and also said bye to quite a few people. We ended the night by going to “Jimmys” with our boy Chaka, we had a lot of fun and ate some nice food!
Friday:
Elder Adolphson came from Kanye and was supposed to take Asi, Leavitt (Canadian Greenie from Lethbridge), and I back to Kanye. We had to wait for Leavitt to finish his orientation at the mission home so we ran errands at the mall, played some ping-pong, and soccer at the flat.
Once he was done with orientation we went to the mission home and ate some food and then hit the road. Once we arrived in Kanye we went to our flats and I got paired up with Nakale, it was later in the evening so I just unpacked for the rest of the night.
Saturday:
We taught some great lessons and contacted a few people, it's kinda nice walking since I've been driving my whole mission. The ZL's (Machisu and Manley) picked us up and brought us to the chapel for ward coordination. We had a good meeting but Nakale wasn't feeling well after so we went home. My guy had some horrible food poisoning so we didn't go out for the rest of the day.
I made us some nice Chakalaka chicken with Pap, he tried eating but just threw it all up so I enjoyed alone
Sunday:
Church was really good, I got to see some people that I taught during my first two weeks on mission when I was here. It's cool being able to come back here now that I know so much more.
We had a member named Antonet join us for a lot of lessons today which went well! After walking her home we had a few more contacts and then taxied home.
Nakale and I played some Mmhele, he won the first game and I won the second, we'll have a tie breaker tomorrow.
Spiritual Thought:
JS History 1:25
So it was with me. I had actually seen a light, and in the midst of that light I saw two Personages, and they did in reality speak to me; and though I was hated and persecuted for saying that I had seen a vision, yet it was true; and while they were persecuting me, reviling me, and speaking all manner of evil against me falsely for so saying, I was led to say in my heart: Why persecute me for telling the truth? I have actually seen a vision; and who am I that I can withstand God, or why does the world think to make me deny what I have actually seen? For I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it; at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation.
Joseph Smith's first vision as well as his questions leading into it, are the primary factors that began the restoration. Because of a young boy's desire for light and truth we now have the restored gospel of Jesus Christ today.
As it is with most good things, they don't come easy, this certainly is the case with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Though we may face persecution and hardships because of our beliefs we must follow the examples of those before us.
The prophets of old always endured trials well, the same was the case for Joseph Smith, and most especially our Saviour Jesus Christ. What was the result? It was always immense blessings. Being freed from bondage, the restored gospel and the priesthood necessary to perform saving ordinances, salvation and exaltation, etc.
Whatever hardships you may be facing, I pray and encourage that you endure them well, there will always be blessings at the end.
Conclusion:
I'm getting this out early so I don't have a summary of today but I think this email Is definitely long enough already. Congratulations if you made it this far!
Love you all, thanks for the messages, emails, and love you're showing.
