Week #48 Prayer Warriors And Prophets
Yo, welcome back… let's get this thing going…
Tuesday:
Weekly planned
Went to the police station to pay Elder Karps ticket. Turns out they just renovated 4 houses into a station which is kinda sad
Taught a nice lesson to a member referral but she was determined that “her prophet” prophet bushedi (or something like that) is the true prophet because he performs “miracles”. Prophets tend to bring many problems around here.
Taught two cousins, Kaona and Precious, of a recent convert that were really cool. Apparently she has more cousins that we can go and teach
Wednesday:
Went finding for an hour and found a really cool Mom that I hope we can keep teaching
Taught 7 more back to back lessons
Taught 2 new cousins, Music and Bogati of the same recent convert from yesterday
Started teaching our newest RC's (Lucia) sister, Onalethata
Thursday:
We virtually joined MLC (Mission Leadership Council) at the Youngs with Sister Welker. We learned a lot, it was nice!
Elder Karp and I went to a restaurant called Bull and Bush and got some nice pizza and burgers
We went to a nearby village called Tati Siding. We met a FB referral there that calls himself a “prayer warrior”. Of course I had to ask him to offer our closing prayer and the one word I'd use to describe it would be ENERGETIC or maybe LOUD or FIRE!
Went finding with Govy and found/taught a cool mom named Wangu. Literally everyone in Gerald knows Govy, even the grandmas!
Friday:
We walked with sister Baatshwana for 30 minutes through the bush so she could show us where some firewood was that they cut so we could come back with the bakkie later to haul it home for her. However, once we got there, it was all gone so we grabbed as many sticks in our hands as we could and made the trek back.
We had a good district council, followed by district lunch at the mall. President Young bought us all whatever we wanted from this fire chicken place. Chicken paella was the choice of the day
We had a lot of cancellations but still managed to get a few lessons that night.
Saturday:
We joined a bunch of members and the Sisters at the chapel to clean up for an activity. It was fun because there was good music and some fun people there.
We met the F-Town elders and walked to the mall for lunch with them. From there, I stayed in Francistown with Egburhe and Karp went back to Gerald with Tchicumbi.
Despite it being my second time on a bike in the last two years it was still a lot of fun and I wasn't too dead.
We got to teach a lot of cool people and see some members from their branch
It was a good exchange
Sunday:
The chapel (converted house) was slammed full today. You couldn't have fit one more person in there. Both the Youngs and Allens gave talks which was great.
During second hour we went to monarch branch to help them with a couple things and then zipped back to Gerald
We were able to watch the baptism of Sadie, one of the Sisters friends
We drove the Youngs home and then went out to tati-siding (nearby village) to meet a FB referral. It was aight but tati is really far for people to ever come to church.
We had some cake at Sadies with the Sisters and helped her water her garden
Taught a bunch more lessons
The last lesson was with the Louis family and we read Alma 32. It was a great lesson, I hope they take Almas invitation to “experiment” upon the word (the book of mormon)
Monday:
Did a little shopping and picked people up/ brought them to the Youngs.
We played a bunch of games like usual. 30 seconds, uno, Skull king, and I played a bit of guitar (song recommendations are appreciated)
Had a great meal of burgers and dawgs.
Lessons fell through so we contacted a few people and got a nice referral that we'll check this week.
Spiritual Thought:
Something short for this week, but I invite you all to read alma 32 this week. As you focus on the invitation given by Alma, ponder what “seed” you can plant in your heart. Nourish it, help it to grow, and watch the seed grow up and flourish. Whether that seed is the BOM, teachings of modern day prophets, the message of the restoration, etc.
As you do so, you will see the seed begin to grow within you as well as your faith and knowledge of that subject.
Conclusion:
I love you, God loves you. Please reach out with any questions or comments and I'll do my best to get back to you on Monday.

PS. Sorry that my emails keep degrading each week but I'll try to make them more interesting in the future.
