Week #27 Jehova's Witnesses At The Baptisms
Hello everyone, welcome back to another recap of my week. We had a few exciting things this week so let's do this.
Tuesday:
We had zone conference this morning so we (myself, karp, siegfried, joel) drove straight to where Pepcy (swakop member with his mission call) was staying and picked him up. Then, we headed to the chapel and were let in after waiting a little bit. I was randomly chosen to give a talk at zone conference which caught me by surprise since I gave a training at the last one. I also helped the AP's with their training by doing push-ups with a weighted backpack, resembling the weight of sins. Our conference ended with President Walker sharing a letter that one of the returned missionaries from our mission sent him. It entailed some special experiences from his mission and we all felt the Spirit very strongly.
We said bye to everyone and then hit the road back to Swak with the Sisters trailing behind. We may or may not have had a slight competition despite our car being broken and not accelerating. We arrived first very safely.
Wednesday:
We tried a new food truck today, “Cartel”. It was very good, they had some nice burgers, and burritos. We went to some of the Himba shops while the food was being prepared, they're pretty cool if you want some souvenirs, I got a cool nut key chain with the big five scratched on it as well as my name.
We taught a bunch of lessons which was nice. In the middle of our day we went to the chapel and got to hear one of the 70, Elder Hugo Martinez and his wife.
Thursday:
Our first lesson today was with a brother named Bobby Bonefasius… I feel like I have to include this just because of his name lol. We taught a decent amount of lessons and called a lot of people that we hadn't contacted in a while. Nothing too crazy today.
Friday:
We met the Sisters at the chapel this morning for district council which went well. Afterwards, we all went to Fork N Nice and got chicken wraps. Sister Mununga is so funny because she gets so excited for the sea and recorded the waves crashing for like 5 minutes.
We taught some lessons and then went to the chapel for activity. There was like 22 of us so it was an awesome turnout. We played games like signs, concentration, and the crowd favorite… mafia. It was a lot of fun.
Grace and Soini both crushed their baptismal interviews as well today!
We taught some more lessons and then headed home. We made some lekker mashed potatoes and steaks.
Saturday:
We waited for an hour at the chapel for everyone to show up for the baptisms of Soini and Grace today. Once we were all there (or so we thought) we started walking to the beach. Upon our arrival we saw that there was a HUGE triathlon taking place and were worried that the swimming portion would affect our baptismal location, luckily it didn't. Elder Karp and I had to quickly leave Soini to go and find someone else who was supposed to meet us at the beach and when we came back Jehova's Witnesses were talking with her. They were trying to teach her at her baptism 😆 Nevertheless the baptisms happened and it was a nice service. I baptized Grace and Eben (return missionary) baptized Soini.
We taught some lessons and then headed back to the chapel for mission prep. We split the class in half with the sisters and then practiced door approach role plays with them. It was really fun.
We taught a couple more lessons and then went finding in DRC. We found a few nice people but A LOT of drunk men. It was really fun.
Sunday:
We had a nice service today, Grace and Soini were confirmed and given the Holy Ghost. Karel was also able to pass the sacrament for the first time since his baptism so that was awesome! We went to the flat ate, took a quick nap, and headed to Naftalis.
When we got there he was sprinting around the corner, dripping in sweat. He said he ran the whole way so he could make our lesson, he's a Chad.
We taught a bunch more lessons today. The second to last was the windiest and coldest lesson I've had thus far, but it was nice.
Monday:
We headed out this morning to “Cape Cross Seal Colony”. On our way there we stopped at a shipwreck which was pretty cool. It was awesome at the colony because there were thousands of Seals. The only downside was how horrible it smelt because of the pee. On our way home there were a bunch of stands on the side of the road with salt rocks and tin cans for money but there was no one to tend the stands. Karp got out put some money in a can, grabbed some salt, and we left. The Sisters think it's juju’ed.
We showered and changed when we got home cause we smelt very bad from the seal colony. We went to a German restaurant and I got some bomb chicken schnitzel, it was my first time trying it.
Then we did a little shopping. I got some sick seal dress shoes which I'm hyped about. Then we did some grocery shopping.
After that, we headed to Eben's and Karp got his haircut. I played soccer with the kids while I waited for him.
We ended the night by meeting the sisters at the chapel for our mission wide office devotional. It was very boring, unfortunately.
Conclusion:
Unfortunately, I don't have time for a spiritual thought this week but I love you all and I know that God loves you. He has a plan for each of you and is there to help you along the way as long as you turn to him. I'm grateful for each of you and the love and support that you show me. Once again I wish I had time to email all of you back but I didn't have much time today.
All my love,
Elder Miller

Another beautiful baptism. I baptized Grace. She is Bouta's older sister.
The turnout for the baptism. It so great to have so many attend. Especially since they all have to
walk up to an hour and a half to get to the ocean.
