Week #22 Trio Time

Image
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to my weekly update. Hope you are all doing well. This week was pretty mellow but there were a few exciting and funny things so I can get started. Tuesday: Today was pretty generic, we taught a good amount of lessons, maybe 7. We were able to help Letisia finish setting up her mission portal since she’s leaving on Monday (today for those of you reading on the 26th). We taught a nice family that we’ve been teaching for a while now. The mother Maria is on date for the 30th of March and we are planning to put her son and niece on date soon. The cool thing is her oldest daughter was baptized a few months ago in Windhoek and we didn’t know it was her daughter until she came here to Swak. Elder Mahisu is very funny and always cracking jokes. He has the funniest laugh I’ve ever heard. Wednesday: We taught a lot of lessons today which was awesome. A lot of them were with people around our age and so they feel very comfortable with us so we always have nice lessons ...

I'm staying in Swak but Elder Were is going back to Windhoek (the capital city) and Elder Machisu from Kenya who came out at the same time as Were and I will come here. The swap will happen on Monday. Thursday: The first order of business was to get a bomb chicken wrap from Fork N’ Nice We were running around a little today, getting people to sign Were’s journal We picked up Brother Pepcy who’s going on a mission soon and he went teaching with us all afternoon. Friday: We prepared our talks...

Hello Everyone! This week was another good week. Let's get started. Tuesday: Today we taught a nice amount of lessons, a lot of them were with members joining too which helps the friends a lot! The highlight today was when we put our friend Penandino on date, he’s very cool and very funny. He’s always cracking jokes and really wants to learn more. We also helped our friend Fatima prepare for her baptism this Saturday! Our last lesson was a phone lesson so we drove to the beach and watched the sunset while we taught our last lesson. Wednesday: Today was another full day. we taught a couple of lessons and then we saw Sister Leticia and she was having a Wambo print dress made so we commissioned some ties which will be sweet! We helped Ishuna with his final preparations before his baptism on Saturday and then we went to Naftalis. He had his baptismal interview over the phone with some elders in Windhoek and he was ready! So now he just had to wait till Saturday! We ended the night by t...

Week #20 Bouta And Baptisms

Welcome back to another weekly recap/ ramble of what my week was like this week. It’s nearing curfew so I’ll get started… Tuesday: Our morning started with a journey over to Walvis Bay to drop our car off at the Ford shop because it needed to be serviced. Luckily they gave us a ride back to Swakopmund and we also had the sisters EcoSport here in Swak but no sisters so we got to drive that while we waited for our car.  We held our weekly planning session at the beach so that was a nice change up. We taught a lesson tonight with an inactive recent convert and she is very cool so we're going to keep meeting with her more. Elder Were (people have been asking how to pronounce his name, *Where-Eh) taught me how to make an East African food called Chapati. It's a dough made of flour, sugar, oil, water, and salt that you then roll out into a thin pancake and fry it in a pan. It is so good and you all need to try it!                    ...
