Week #21 Survived Another Transfer In Swakomund

This week's email will be extra short because I have like no time, so here are some highlights!

Tuesday:

We taught a lot of lessons today all back to back, I think it was 8.

Wednesday:

Today was my 150th day on the mission. 5 Months! time flies. This will be my last full transfer in Namibia (6 weeks) because we can only have a 6-month visa here
got some boss donuts to “celebrate”. Peppermint crisp, apple filled, cinnamon and sugar.
Had a nice dinner at the Katjotjo's home.
TRANSFER NEWS! I'm staying in Swak but Elder Were is going back to Windhoek (the capital city) and Elder Machisu from Kenya who came out at the same time as Were and I will come here. The swap will happen on Monday.

Thursday:

The first order of business was to get a bomb chicken wrap from Fork N’ Nice
We were running around a little today, getting people to sign Were’s journal
We picked up Brother Pepcy who’s going on a mission soon and he went teaching with us all afternoon.
Friday:

We prepared our talks for Sunday this morning
We had maybe 4 lessons only today
The youth activity was really long today. Elder Were taught everyone how to make chapati.

Saturday:

We got some nice BBQ chicken wraps from Gallitos
Taught mission prep, the youth are very funny.
Ran Were’s journal around a little more today
Taught a nice lesson about temples to Pepcy’s family
Taught a really big family for our last lesson. The little kids always dress up in their bowties whenever we go over, it's so funny, I love it.
Ended the night by getting Kapana and Fat Cakes. It was Elder Were’s first time having Kapana! His previous comps failed him.

Sunday:

We had a hectic morning going from one side of Swakopmund to the other and then back again. We were reminding people about church and then Elder Were forgot his tag… it was very hectic.
We started walking with one of our friends to church at 8. A few members around there walked with us, Queeny, Grace, Monica, and their dog Patriot who comes to church more often than anyone else I know.
We gave our talks. Elder Were's was about loving our neighbor and mine was about honoring our baptismal covenants.
Then we ended up teaching a class for the second hour to all of our friends who made it to church. It was fully improved but turned out decent.
Walked back to DRC where the car was
Went to Leticia's and grabbed our Oshiwambo ties that we had made!
Taught some lessons

Monday:

Elder Were and I drove to Karibib (halfway between Swak and Windhoek). We swapped Elders Were for Machisu. It was nice to see the Elders who came for the drive since we haven't seen them since they entered Namibia. We are truly in the boonies in Swak. We’re 2 plane rides away from our mission president and a 4-hour drive from the nearest missionaries.
We bought some groceries, made some food, took a nap.
Ended the night by teaching two lessons and then grabbing fat cakes on the way home.
It was Elder Machisu’s first time having fat cakes in Namibia
He’s very funny, I’m excited to work hard with him!

Scripture/ Spiritual thought:

2 Nephi 4:15-35 is a Psalm (poem) from Nephi. You’re supposed to read it out loud. Maybe give it a try?

Conclusion:

Sorry this week's email wasn’t as insightful, IDK maybe this format is better… let me know. It was a good week and I’m excited to show Elder Machisu around Swak. Thank you everyone for tuning in if you’ve made it this far.

Love all of you, God loves you, have an amazing week!

My new shoes that I had made. Zebra! Check out the link below for the full haul.
This is a new friend we are teaching. We discovered that her brother is on a mission but she isn't a member.
Leticia will be leaving on her mission to Ghana next week.
This is a family we are teaching. These are the little boys who always go put their bowties on when we come to teach.
They live an hour and a half from the church so we are hoping to find a way to get them there.
