Week #2 Getting Started

Image
Hello again, My P-days are on Fridays for now so that's when I’ll be writing my emails.  I started out the week by saying bye to the family at the airport so that was a bit sad but all went well. I was on the same flight out of Calgary as my friend Elder Galindo so that was cool. Euan picked me up at the SLC airport and I was starving so we went straight to In n' Out and I got two double doubles which was much needed. *pictures below. Once we got back to Euans place we met up with Gray and we got to hang out for a bit and then the three of us met Camryn and Max at Raising Caines which was really good.  The next day (wednesday) I met up with Nana, Marilee, Heather, and Julie for breakfast at Gurus and then we took some photos up at the Provo temple with them as well as Euan, Gray, Jack, and Sadie. Once the pictures were done and we talked for a little bit I said bye to the latter three which was sad but glad I got to see them right before I went into the MTC.  So far the M...

Blessing From Papa

Dearest Heath, in the name of Jesus Christ and by authority of the Melchizedek priesthood I lay my hands on your head to give you a blessing of comfort, direction and according to the Lord’s endowment with power and confidence as you go forward in service in Botswana and Namibia. Your progenitor, my grandfather, with a spirit of adventurism and a desire to support his family that they might be brought to Zion unto Africa in order to seek sufficient needs to be able to transport them here, with many tales and much strength developed along the way. The Lord preserved him. Of those who went, he was the only one that lived according to the covenants that ...

Week #1 Home MTC!

Hello everyone, Today marks the first whole week of my mission. I took my last online MTC class this afternoon, and fly out to Provo tomorrow to begin my two weeks of in-person training at the Provo MTC. At home, MTC was easier than expected. My companion, Elder Law, and my district seem great, so I’m excited to meet them at the MTC. Regardless of all that, the endless Zoom classes were still exhausting, and it’s been tiring getting used to waking up at 6:30 every day. Nothing crazy happened this week, but I’m sure there’ll be a lot of exciting experiences in the MTC.  On P-day and in my free time I’ve been visiting the puppies my grandpa's dog Annie just had. There are six of them, and they’ll be 4 weeks old tomorrow. There’s also been a lot of competitive pickleball matches with the family. This email is a short one since not much has happened this week, but I’ll talk to you all next week with more stories. Spiritual thought: One of the sisters in my district talked about the Heb...
