Week #2 Getting Started

Hello again,

My P-days are on Fridays for now so that's when I’ll be writing my emails.

I started out the week by saying bye to the family at the airport so that was a bit sad but all went well. I was on the same flight out of Calgary as my friend Elder Galindo so that was cool. Euan picked me up at the SLC airport and I was starving so we went straight to In n' Out and I got two double doubles which was much needed. *pictures below. Once we got back to Euans place we met up with Gray and we got to hang out for a bit and then the three of us met Camryn and Max at Raising Caines which was really good.  The next day (wednesday) I met up with Nana, Marilee, Heather, and Julie for breakfast at Gurus and then we took some photos up at the Provo temple with them as well as Euan, Gray, Jack, and Sadie. Once the pictures were done and we talked for a little bit I said bye to the latter three which was sad but glad I got to see them right before I went into the MTC.

So far the MTC has been great, I’ve got a six person apartment but there are only four of us so we have lots of room which is nice. We've already filled one of the empty closets with snacks that my mom sent so we’re eating good. The district and my comp are all awesome and are the exact same as they were on Zoom. Not much has happened since I’ve only been here for two days but we’ve had a few devotionals/ classes and the 6:30 AM hoops are good, I can’t say the same about the breakfast here.

So far it’s been tiring but overall it's been a spiritual and fun experience. Ended the week with P-day (today) a lot of the Elders went to the gym in the morning and also played some ball which was fun. We also had a temple session which was great and finished the day with some beach volleyball.

Weird thing:
We walked out of the bookstore with all of the Elders in the district and saw a bunch of Elders huddled around something and cheering. We walked up closer to see what was going on and there was a praying mantis fighting a wasp. We had class so we couldn’t stay around to find out who won but it was pretty funny.

Scripture/s of the week:
2 Nephi 2: 6-7  Wherefore redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth. Behold he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.
2 Nephi 2:9 …and they that believe in him shall be saved.
