Week #63 Reigning On The Courts And Raining From The Sky.

Image
Yo, I'm very tired so this will be a short one. Highlights: Got to go teaching in the pouring rain (see video) We're not double covering anymore! We had 4 of our friends go to church this week which is great for this area! We found some really awesome people through FB (one of them has an older brother that's a strong member) Zone v zone v zone bball on Pday which was hype. Our zone won but it was pretty scrappy ball  We had 8 missionaries go home due to visa rejections :’( There will likely be many many more getting reassigned in the next couple months. Pray for our mission please. Some crazy conspiracy theorist (still knew his scriptures really well) tried bashing us. It was pretty funny. Got to see the Walkers for a bit which is always nice. They came over to say goodbye to Elder Damms since he's being reassigned so that kinda sucked. Had a nice district service project breaking up some firewood. Have a good week, love y’all. Also, please pray for our mission -Elder ...

Week #62 Diamonds And Devos

photos and videos:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ BFVKW7UZSgREGh836 This week was full of a lot of meetings and staying home with sick missionaries so it wasn't too eventful, but here's the recap. The week started off with a mission wide devotional where the majority of us gathered in person. We also had our weekly planning which we did in the mall while the car was being washed. We had a few Nxonono’s offer to “show us around Gabs” so that was fun. We had our mission tour (zone conference that a general authority presides over, and typically tours around the mission) on Wednesday. Due to Elder Sikahema’s (General Authority 70) time frame he couldn't tour the mission so the whole mission gathered together in Gabs for the first time ever. I learned a lot about “receiving hard counsel” and loving those around us. Elder Sikahema read some excerpts from the dedicatory prayers for Namibia and Botswana, and the Spirit was very tangible as he did so. The blessings promised were immen...

More photos and videos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/F26VESrXb3yV55Uf7 Ola!  (A common street greeting here. Not a Spanish typo)      This week was a relatively successful week despite this area's reputation for being quite difficult. We got many lessons and got pretty close to most of our goals. Some highlights of the week were as follows…      We had our interviews with President Walker, prior to our mission tour so he wouldn't have to try and interview the whole mission in a couple days. We're going to be having our mission tour this upcoming week. Elder Sikahema will be coming and the whole entire mission will be meeting together for the first time ever, Including Namibia!      We had our stake conference this saturday/ Sunday. Many of us missionaries joined the choir, this involved a lot of practice in the days leading up to the conference. We sang “Come Thou Fount” and “Amazing Grace”. The conference was great and we had Elder Silva c...

Week #60 Rainforce, Root Beer, And Running Stomach.

Hey everyone! It seems like these weeks keep getting faster and faster, I feel like I just wrote my last email. This week had some fun times and finally some not so fun times…  Tuesday: We ran a couple of errands this morning and then called a lot of people for weekly planning. We're still double-covering between our area and Elder Mathias’ area, it makes the work a little complicated but it's pure comedy working with these two.  We have a greenie (Anderson) staying in our flat who is also sick. So, he can stay with Elder Mathias’ companion, Elder Damms.  We arrived at one of our lessons today but then Machisu demanded that we take an emergency stop to the bush… iykyk. Foreshadowing Finished the night by making some nice chapati and stew. Wednesday: We taught a decent amount of lessons today between the two areas. As usual we also had to run a few errands and also do an interview for one of our zone members friends.  We went to contact a member and see how she was do...
