Week #40 On The Road Again

Image
Dumela everyone! I'm glad to be writing to you all again! I hope you had an awesome week. Let me get started. Tuesday: We had a few lessons and a few contacts today. We reviewed the interview questions with Abel and he remembered most of them. He's on date to be baptized this Sunday so I hope everything goes well! Wednesday: Elder Mathias joined the other elders today for exchanges so it was just me and Mosweswe. We taught 5 lessons today and also did some finding. We found 5 new people, 3 of them were siblings all around mid 30's. They seemed super interested and smart when it comes to the gospel. Our district had been planning on buying, killing, and eating a goat at a members today. However due to some issues we changed plans to just having a potluck with the sisters. We played a few board Games and then feasted. It was a lot of fun. We drove home and listened to our transfer calls on the way. The whole mochudi district is being changed with new missionaries except for M...

I don’t have much time so let's get straight into it… Tuesday: Taught a sister today who locked her elderly mom inside the house who kept trying to escape Taught Rainforce and Pauline, they're progressing so well!!! Had some nice chips-mayai and pinenut for dinner Mathias tried to jump on his bed at night and completely missed. He flew right between the beds and smacked on the floor Wednesday: Went to the dentist in Gabs with Law to get some teeth touched up.  Found a cherry coke! wow, I forgot how good they are, it’s the little things. A lot of elders came over to our flat from Francistown so they could drive with us to Gabs for zone conference tomorrow Thursday: We had zone conference today. It was so awesome and our temporary president (Chadambuka) gave a great training. It was fun to see all of the boys there. We got back to Mochudi for ward correlation which was canceled The elders from Francistown stayed one more night since there wasn’t enough time for them to drive ther...

Week #38 The GOAT

Image
Hello everyone, how are you doing? I hope all is well! Let's get into the report… Tuesday:  After completing our typical Tuesday morning schedule we dropped the elders in their area. Our first two lessons canceled on us after we drove to their homes and no one was around, so we went and got lunch since it was already 3. It was some place in the elders area that we won’t be going back to. We went to contact a member but he wasn’t around so we did some service and helped his aunt/ uncle, or grandparents. I'm not really sure who they were. We helped them wash some clothes. We went to our friend Botlhale’s home, and reviewed everything we’ve taught her in preparation for her baptism this Sunday. We drove 15 minutes to our next lesson and then she canceled in our face because “it’s too cold” (it was 14 CÂș). The elders asked us to pick them up since they were on bikes and were cold, so we brought them to our next lesson. We taught Rainforce and his wife Pauline, they’re so cool and c...

Week #37 A Great Week!

Image
Hello everyone! Another week in the books. Let me tell you about it… Tuesday: Now that Elder Mathias only has three weeks left in his training we made him call most of our people for weekly planning while we cleaned the kitchen. Some of the highlights of today were when we got to teach a “Former Prophet”, surprisingly he seemed somewhat receptive. Another great lesson that we had was with Rainforce and his wife. He’s the brother that we found from Zimbabwe, we taught him the restoration. He was so receptive and said he already knew it was true. People from Zim are the best. Wednesday: My 20th Birthday. Every Wednesday we have a zone exercise over zoom, we got to lead it so that was pretty fun. Our first appointment was a service for a couple we’re teaching. We helped him cut down a big tree in his yard in preparation for building a tuckshop in his yard. Next up was a lesson with a brother who was referred by the sisters. At the end of the lesson he was asking A LOT about the s...
