Week #27 Jehova's Witnesses At The Baptisms

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to another recap of my week. We had a few exciting things this week so let's do this. Tuesday: We had zone conference this morning so we (myself, karp, siegfried, joel) drove straight to where Pepcy (swakop member with his mission call) was staying and picked him up. Then, we headed to the chapel and were let in after waiting a little bit. I was randomly chosen to give a talk at zone conference which caught me by surprise since I gave a training at the last one. I also helped the AP's with their training by doing push-ups with a weighted backpack, resembling the weight of sins. Our conference ended with President Walker sharing a letter that one of the returned missionaries from our mission sent him. It entailed some special experiences from his mission and we all felt the Spirit very strongly.  We said bye to everyone and then hit the road back to Swak with the Sisters trailing behind. We may or may not have had a slight competition despite our car...

Week #26 S I X M O N T H S

Six months ago I started my mission!  This week was a little hectic, Let's begin. Tuesday: We had weekly planning in the morning. After that finished we went to Fork N Nice with the Zone leaders (Elders Lymphane and Steimle) because they were on exchanges with us. We literally watched some seagull gangs try to kill each other, it was pretty wild. Since weekly planning took so long we only taught a few lessons today and we contacted a lot of people. We tried a Wambo fruit today from a member. I can't remember the name of it but it's a seed with skin around it that tastes kinda like a raisin. We went home and whipped up some burgers which were nxa! Wednesday: The Zone leaders left for Windhoek this morning and then Karp and I went and taught a lesson. Afterwards, we went to Walvis Bay airport to pick up 2 sisters (Macanda and Mununga) who were coming To Swak. We took them around Swak and taught a few lessons with them and got some Hungry Lion to finish the night. Thursday: We...

Week #25 Another Week In Paradise

Hallo almal, hoe gaan dit? I hope you're all doing well. This week was nothing crazy but we got a few surprises which spiced it up a bit. I won't bore you with much of a preamble today… However, I will quickly add that I’ll only be including the highlights of each day this week as opposed to my usual rundown of each and every day. Tuesday: Our first lesson today, following a forever-long weekly planning session was with an inactive member. He was baptized in Zimbabwe when he was 11 in 2002. Sometime between then and now he moved to Swakopmund Namibia and went inactive. We found him last week when we went to meet a concierge at a hotel that requested a Book of Mormon through a facebook add. He approached us since he was also a concierge and we exchanged contact info. We had a nice lesson with him today and he even showed us his baptismal certificate that he kept which was so cool! The Lord works in mysterious ways. We then went to one of our friends homes and played some “cookie...

Week #23 I Went To Dune 2 (Kind Of)

Hello everyone, as usual I'm writing this right before bed and rarely do I let something keep me from my precious 8 hours so I'll begin… Tuesday: We kicked off the morning with some Mopane worms 🪱.  You can see the video in the link at the end of this email. Elder Karp didn't hate them and Elder Machisu almost puked, he said people in East Africa are horrified of them. We put a friend on baptismal date for later this month. We had about 7-8 lessons today. It was a pretty good day. Wednesday: Our first lesson today was at 11am with Siegfried. He's waiting for his mission calling so we helped him teach by doing a role play. After that lesson we had to take Elder Karp to our favorite donut bar on the pier (jetty). We had about 5 more lessons with dinner at the Katjojo's home in between. The food was great as usual and their family is amazing! We also helped a few of our friends continue to prepare for their baptisms this Saturday. In one of our lessons, Queeny told us...
