Week #10 The Weeks Are Flying By

Image
Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well and enjoyed Thanksgiving! (for the Americans) This week has been a lot of driving all over Namibia to run errands for our district since my companion Elder Tolbert has become the district leader. It's crazy how he's only been in the field for about 4 months and he's already training someone (me) and he's a district leader. He keeps reminding me how I could literally be training someone at the end of this transfer, which is so crazy to think about. Highlights: The week started out a bit slow because a lot of our lessons fell through so we had to do a lot of finding. It worked out though because we got to end the night by picking up Indian food again which was so good and I got to call Harris (my brother) for his birthday on Tuesday. Anytime there's an excuse to call home I take it. Wednesday was a lot faster because we had a completely full day of lessons. We had a great lesson with the family that surprised us at chur...

Week #9 What The Flip Were We Doing At The Sand Dunes? Gosh.

Image
It's very late here right now and I forgot to write an email so it's going to be a little bit short here this week. I'll just give a few highlights and of course a few pictures! Highlights: We started the week with some Fish N' Chips from Fork N' Nice again. It is by far the best fish n chips I've ever had, I wish you could all try it.  We stopped by the house where like 10 little kids always play from ages 6-16 (I can't remember if I've mentioned them in my emails before). We've taught them a few times and they're all so funny and want to play so it's hard to say goodbye when we have to get to our next lesson. This week our MSF cards (How we get our money for groceries etc.) Finally started working after being broken for two weeks so we were able to buy a lot of groceries which was so nice.  On Thursday we drove to Walvis Bay. The whole drive is along the coastline where the dunes meet the sea so I guess the view was alright. On our drive ba...

Week #8 Camels And Calamari

Image
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am 9 hours ahead of mountain standard time so I might be a week late responding to emails as I'm going to bed when it's mid day for you. I appreciate all the emails I've received already. Also, although I have Facebook our mission does not allow us to use it so if you'd like to contact me it has to be through email. heath.miller@missionary.org  General Overview: Tuesday: We started the day with finding like usual, because we are opening this new area of Swakopmund it seems like we're finding for an eternity sometimes. Luckily we quickly found a group of little kids from 6-16 ish who all wanted to have a lesson together so we sat outside and talked a little bit about the Godhead. Kids always give very fun and interactive lessons which makes the time fly by really quickly and always gives us a bit more energy. Plus they're insanely good for referrals, it seems like they know an endless amount of little kids that always wan...
