Week #85 Proud Papa

Yebo, let's get started.

Tuesday:

We started our day with a couple hours of finding and we found some really awesome people! Especially this one brother named Wakgotla who seems very receptive and interested.

We also met with a lot of recent converts today which was great as usual. As well as a lot of people that should be baptized but marriage is the only thing preventing them from that. It's a problem that is very difficult to resolve due to marriage traditions here :/ It’s sad that it prevents so many willing souls from receiving this covenant.

We managed to get 10 lessons today so that was fun.

Wednesday:

Tuia and Gibb both went in the morning with the office elders for visa work; they didn't come back until about 16:30. So, I was with Whitworth in his area until they came back. Once they came back there was a rain storm so we couldn't go out until a couple hours later, we managed to get out for two more lessons. They were both pretty good.

Thursday:

The greenies went for visa work again from 05:00 - 10:00. We had a lot of canceled lessons but we usually found a productive way to spend that spare time.

We had a great POS lesson with two member girls and one of them later went to a lesson with us where we taught the same thing and put this sister on baptismal date.

We felt a bit discouraged from all the canceled lessons so we went to a member's location but instead found a person who was interested in the gospel. Her name is Hailey and we taught the Godhead and prayer to her. She kept asking us questions and we were blowing her mind. She seems so interested, hopefully she can progress!

Friday:

We had a good district council in the morning, the best part was our district lunch after 😆 Sister Kemigisha made her infamous chapati as well as some nice beef stew. We brought chocolates and drinks 😆 It slapped!

We had some unsuccessful attempts at home to home contacting so we biked 11 kms to a part of our area called Gabane. We used a really cool dirt road that took us through the bush and some farms. We had some good lessons there with some RC's and then came home.

We came home and tried to make some homemade mac n’ cheese. I'd appreciate any recipes… (aunty jen)

Saturday:

Machisu joined Elder Gibb and I for the day. We had a lot of great lessons, beginning with Moses (we found him last week) . We taught the whole restoration to him, he's so receptive. We also had a great lesson with a girl that we found a few days ago as well as her husband, the husband is also really cool!

The other two lessons I'll mention from today are one with an inactive member and her half brother that we found. She wants to come back to church and her brother is interested in the gospel. The other is a girl named Michelle who understood the Resto really well!

I ended the night by cooking a traditional dish of Pap, beef stew, and morogo. It was actually so fire and it was my first time trying to make it.

Sunday:

We had 13 of our 22 RC's come to church and a few friends who came from very far so it was decent attendance. After church we went finding with Brother Masutha the whole day, he's an absolute beast! We found so many cool people, even this one family of like 10 people!

Nakale and Leavitt came from Kanye and slept over. I made some nxa chapati, chicken stew, and morogo for everyone.

Monday:

We all just chilled at the flat for most of the day. We walked to Nandos for dinner and played many games of pool on our way home. It was a lot of fun. We went out and had a really great lesson with 1 sister and the other lesson was canceled so we came home.

Conclusion:

It was a really great week, my son is learning the ropes really quickly, we're having fun, and the Lord is giving us a lot of really cool people!

I'm really enjoying this transfer so far, hopefully it can keep rolling.

Love y'all, hope you're having the same luck I am. Have a good week!

Love Elder Miller
