We did our weekly planning as well as our transfer cleaning for the flat. We went to Boipelo's for our first lesson which went great. She gave us fries and some fire BLT's along with a bag full of chocolate and chips haha.
We met with a couple more recent converts and then we went to a house beside one of our recent converts that had a dot on it. We had never taught this person before but previous missionaries had. We ended up finding three people there and got to teach all of them!
We finished the day by contacting a few more recent converts.
Wednesday:
We had a lot of lessons fall through today so we scrambled around and tried our best to fill the schedule, nothing crazy.
We ended the night with transfer calls! I'll be going to Mogoditshane (In Gabs) as a trainer and a district leader. I'm super excited!!
Thursday:
Today was my last day in Kanye so we went around and said our last goodbyes to a lot of members, RC’s, friends, etc. I also cooked Nakale and ‘Asi in Mmhele which was fun.
Friday:
Leavitt got dropped at my flat in the morning and ‘Asi, Adolphson, and I went to Gabs since we're all being transferred. We spent a lot of time at the stake center for transfers waiting for the missionaries to come in. We were playing guitar, soccer, volleyball, and basketball while we waited.
My son is cool, his name is Elder Gibb (4th cousin) from Utah. We're also staying in the same flat as Whitworth and his son, Tuia (from Samoa/ Cali). They're all super cool so I think we'll have a great transfer!
With the remaining time we just unpacked, called some people, and cleaned the flat.
Also, the first time Elder Gibb tried to call someone after I showed him what to do, the Sisters called him from an unknown number. They trolled us so bad we thought it was some creepy girl the other missionaries were teaching. She was “trying to meet up with us and cook us dinner” but then we finally realized it was them. The timing couldn't have been worse/ better.
Saturday:
We biked around the whole day and got 8 lessons, 3 lessons with members participating, and found 3 new people. Pretty good for our first day and not knowing anyone or anywhere in our new area.
We had a lot of really good lessons and the members are really eager to help out with the work, it's amazing!
Sunday:
All of Gabs watched the final session of general conference at the stake center which is where I was attending when I served in Broadhurst. So, I got to see a lot of my recent converts, friends, and members that I worked a lot with, it was really fun!
The Zone leaders took us around for the rest of the day and showed us our area. They'll be changing the boundaries so wherever we were yesterday will no longer be our area :’(
Monday:
Today we got some haircuts, banging food at Rocomamas, groceries, had a mission devotional, and Elder Tuia made some gas Tres Leches!
These greenies are sick ngl, and they're ready to work which is the best part
Spiritual Thought:
My spiritual thought for the week comes from this General Conference, from Sister Tamara W. Runia.
I loved how she talked about our worth in the sight of God relative to our obedience. No matter who you are, what you've done, or where you've been, God will always love you just as much as anyone else. Our obedience does bring blessings and it does please God, but our obedience or lack thereof does not change our worth in the sight of God.
I know that God loves each of us perfectly and “omnisciently” as Elder Kearon put it. He knows you, He loves you, and He will do everything He can to help you return to live with Him again. He will always be beckoning you to return to him “with full purpose of heart” and will never turn you away.
Conclusion:
I'm glad I got to give a better report this week than I typically do, congrats if you made it through all of that!
I appreciate all of the emails, and messages from all of you, sorry if I missed responding to you.
Elder Miller
