Week #78 Lessons, Laughing And Laws.

We got back very late so here's a highlight or two from each day…

Tuesday:

Adolphson and Leavitt came over at 6:15am to smash cake in Nakale's face for his B-Day. He was assaulted with a lot of water throughout the day as well.

Taught a bunch of lessons and a few games of snooker for his birthday.

Wednesday:

We taught "obey and honor the law" (one of the principles required before baptism) to one of our friends. Nakale gave the example of drunk driving and something else interesting. He said “when you put something in your shopping cart like chips, but then you no longer want them, don't put them with the bread, make sure you put them back where you got them.” The sisters then asked “if that's really necessary” Asi and I just started dying laughing.

We taught a lot of lessons today which was great.

One old man told us we were doing a good thing teaching people not to drink and smoke. However instead of saying smoke he put 2 fingers to his mouth and started kissing them. His niece and us started laughing a lot

Thursday:

We had 11 lessons today and a member, Amantle, joined us for a few of them.

We taught a girl named Kaone who moved to our area and was taught by missionaries before. She's very smart and receptive so we’ll probably put her on date next week.

Friday:

A lot of running around today

A great lesson with Boipelo on the WOW and Law of Chastity. She just instantly accepted the commandments and is progressing so well towards her baptism!

Saturday:

We had district service at brother Pulubas since one of his homes collapsed. We dismantled the roof and cleared out the rubble.

We had “district council”, lunch, at Jimmys, and then went to the chapel for Ward coordination.

It was now about 4:30 but we still managed 6 lessons

We met again with the smoking guy from wednesday. He is very receptive but made a few odd comments, but we just shrugged them off since he's kinda old.

Sunday:

We went to the smoking guy's house in the morning to walk to church with him as we planned. However, he wasn't home and an old lady told us that he stays at Sbrana psychiatric hospital but was just visiting. I guess all of the other things made sense now

Ended the night with our usual tradition of making a boatload of chapati

I also got to listen to my cousin Will's homecoming talk. And my cousin Grayson's farewell talk, over Zoom. They were both stellar.

Monday:

We just slept, called family, and then went to the Pule's home. We had a huge braii with a few games and had a lot of fun.

It was a great P-Day

Conclusion:

Thanks for tuning in, see y’all next week!

The ice pops are a much needed treat to cool down.

Botswana birthday traditions. Cake in the face and lots and lots of water thrown at you.

The kids! My favorite.
