Week#42 Crocodile Converts: Missionary Misadventures In The "River"

Tuesday:

  • Every SIM card in the mission stopped working so no Internet or weekly planning

  • Went to the Youngs (senior couple) to drop supplies and they gave us home baked cinnamon rolls. They also gave us a fresh loaf of bread

  • We went teaching with the F-Town sisters in their area

  • Got Hungry Lion (fried chicken fast food) and they were playing Post Malone the whole time. I miss music so Bad

  • Joined the Gerald Sisters for a couple lessons then they joined us for a couple lessons.


Wednesday:

  • We virtually joined MLC (mission leadership council) at the youngs in the morning

  • Dropped an elder at the Youngs whos going to Gabs for visa work

  • Dropped other elders at the hospital 

  • Taught mission Prep with Elder Santos. One sister opened her mission call after!

  • Monarch elders joined us and the Youngs for our discussion with the Louis family. We're so close to getting them married now! They want to be baptized so bad, they're the best.

  • Taught a bunch more lessons in the evening.


Thursday:

  • We went to the sisters flat to use their phone for weekly planning since our SIM's still weren't working

  • Picked up our pants from the tailor who also brought us chicken and juice. Sometimes the people here are the best

  • We has a lot of contacts and a decent amount of lessons

  • Had a nice lesson with one sister who's on date, Lucia.


Friday:

  • We picked the Monarch elders up and went to district council

  • We did some gardening as a district at the Monarch Chapel and planted a bunch of vegetables

  • We had a few good lessons and a few good contacts

  • Cooked dinner for the first time in a week despite being exhausted


Saturday:

  • I don't remember today great

  • We did 3 interviews for Elder Thomas. I interviewed a little boy named Melvin. We played 2 matches of Mmhele after

  • Got back to the flat at night and did a virtual interview for the Serowe elders


Sunday:

  • We got 6 friends to church, which was less than expected but still happy 6 came:)

  • Went to F-Town chapel after church so Santos could baptize Melvin for F-Town elders

  • Had FHE with some members and the Gerald Sisters, we played “cover your assets” and “Uno”. I'm convinced that Cover your Assets was created by the devil himself.

  • Ended the night having a member meal with the Gerald Sisters as well.

  • Serowe did the 2 hour drive to spend P-Day with the Zone tomorrow


Monday:

  • After cramming 9 people into the truck we drove to “Doumas Croc Farm”.

  • Passed a police check stop on the way so half the elders got out of the truck and walked through. We picked them back up on the other side

  • Bought a croc in a jar, harassed some crocs, picked some up. Photos and videos on the album

  • Went to the youngs for pickleball and a 4th of July feast. P days here are elite

  • Had a zone council in the candle light since the power went out.

  • Taught a couple lessons with Elder Havea joining us, he's hilarious, ifykyk.


Conclusion:

It was a quick email but it was also a quick week. Love you all so much and pray for you continually. Go have a great week!

Tuesday: We began the day with weekly planning as we do every Tuesday, it's the worst part of the week. Afterwards we got lunch and hit the area. We had a lot of lessons today but the highlights were with Sticks and Kefilwe who we reviewed the baptismal interview with, they just need to get married. Then a yellow dot named Kago who I absolutely clapped with the Bible, with christlike love of course. Usually I try to avoid throwing bible verses back and forth since it typically leads to contention but every time he said something contrary to the true gospel of Jesus Christ I had to give him a few verses. Lastly, I'll highlight our lesson with Peaches, Habo, and Kealeboga who also always come to church. They're on date for baptism on the 22nd, they're a great family! Week #88 Awesome Week ... Awesome Transfer.

Tuesday: We had a handful of lessons today, as well as weekly planning, and then cleaning the stake center since they were hosting a conference of sorts there. The 2 highlights were the twins who came into the chapel and asked for a tour, and our lesson with Shado/ her family. While we cleaned the chapel 2 identical twin brothers walked in and asked for a tour so we obliged, and then connected them with the missionaries for their area.  Our lesson with Shado was about temples and it was great, we even put 2 of her daughters on date which was amazing. Wednesday: We did our grocery shopping today and Elder Gibb decided he only wanted to eat hotdogs for the week. So I didn't have to buy any meat because he said I can have what's already in the freezer from last week. We had a great lesson with Sticks, Kefilwe, and Rasta.
