Week #18.5-19 Use Boldness

I’m back! This week was a quick week, literally. Having 2 P-days in one week is pretty nice.

Hope everyone is doing well since my last email, and was able to enjoy the weekend. Especially everyone back home in Calgary with the -60 C° with windchill.

This email is gonna be short and sweet since it is only a recap of the last 4 days.

Friday:

I started my morning with a run to/ along the beach and then up and down the pier with one of the AP’s Elder Herrera. It was much needed cause I felt like death after and it was only like 1.8 miles. The mission bulk may be going a little too well.

Once we got back to the flat we all headed out for Zone Conference. For those of you who don’t know what that is it is essentially a conference that we have once a month. Every missionary in our zone, which happens to be all of Namibia, gets together. Some of the missionaries as well as the mission president all give talks and trainings and it's a time for all of us to grow our knowledge and faith in the gospel.

Anyways, I gave a 15 minute training on seeking and relying on the spirit and I was able to learn a lot from it.

For lunch, we all got fork n nice which was able to maintain its spotless record for my favorite food truck here.

We ended the night by teaching a few lessons that all went well.

It’s pretty fun having 6 elders in one flat right now as opposed to just us two!

Saturday:

We started the morning by teaching a  couple of lessons with President and Sister Walker. It was a little stressful if I’m being honest but I was able to learn a lot from them! We taught Naftali with them which was sweet since he's ready for baptism. I'll include a picture of us at his house.

After those lessons we went to the chapel to teach mission prep with the AP’s (assistant presidents). We taught about how to share a scripture using BREAD. Background, Read, Explain, Apply, Don't forget to testify.

I ended the night by going on exchanges with Elder Peterson (AP) he's awesome and I learned how to get people really excited about growing their faith and testimonies- it was awesome!

Sunday:

Church was awesome today, we had a lot of friends come, even some from Walvis Bay which was crazy!

Afterward, I went on exchanges with Elder Herrera! We taught a nice amount of lessons, put one of our friends on date which was so cool, and made some fried chicken with canes sauce for us and the other elders.

I was able to learn how to be very bold in my teaching with Elder Herrera and we talked about a lot of cool stuff that we have in common. Needless to say he’s a homie.

I ended the night by giving Tolbert a call as seems to be the case every night now. He buzzed his head to a 2 while we were calling so that was funny.

Monday:

We started the morning by going to a breakfast spot with the AP’s that was aight. I got some German eggs benny and a parfait.

After that we ran to some souvenir shops that they wanted to look through before they had to leave.

We drove them to the airport in Walvis Bay and then came back and relaxed in the flat for a while.

We hit up a couple of stores, and I bought a baller pinky ring.

Then we had a couple lessons and put one friend from Windhoek on date and one friend here in swak on date.

Spiritual Thought/ Scripture

Alma 38:12 -  Use boldness, but not overbearance; and also see that ye bridle all your passions, that ye may be filled with love;...

As we share our testimonies and we invite others to come unto Christ sometimes it’s going to take some boldness. This is one lesson that I’ve been able to learn on my mission, especially this week. As we share our passions and use our personalities to share the gospel we will help bring the love of God and the light of Christ into our lives as well as those we are sharing it with!

Conclusion:

This week was so awesome and I learned so much. I am so glad I got to talk with all of you again this week and appreciate all of the messages and emails you’ve been sending my way. I am praying for all of you every day!

Love you all,
Elder Miller
