Week #3 "Weeping May Endure For A Night But, Joy Cometh In The Morning."

Hello everyone!

This week has been a really great week.

The district has been doing most if not all of our sports/ exercises together so it’s been really fun. Most of our free time has been spent either playing basketball, volleyball, or at the gym lifting weights. There was one day this week where we had a huge gap between classes and didn't know what to do so we had to think of something creative. Me, Elder Law, Elder Kuhni, Elder Selman, and Elder Wood decided that baseball was the way to go but we couldn’t go to the field since it was raining outside so the bottom floor of our housing dorms were the next best option. We didn't have a bat or a baseball so we used my water bottle and a stress ball instead. Each corner of the hallway was a base and the building is a perfect square so it worked out. It was pretty funny but we all had a good time and before we knew it other Elders were joining in and poking their heads out their doors to see what was happening.

Another awesome thing this week was General Conference! There were so many great talks and great messages that were shared. One of my favorite messages was from the first speaker, David. A. Bednar, where he said “Weeping may endure for a night but, joy cometh in the morning.” - Psalm 30:5  This quote is very powerful because it explains how in the moment of our trials and hardships we may be discouraged or feel like we have no one to turn to. However, Jan. E. Newman says in a later talk, “We may feel inadequate but you are never alone.” Meaning that when we are struggling and need someone to turn to God is always there waiting and hoping that we will turn to him so that “...joy may cometh in the morning.” through him.

The MTC has been great so far aside from the breakfast in the cafeteria and getting up at 6:30 every day. The district is awesome and I’m learning a lot. I hope each of you are doing great and enjoying the fall weather. Next time I send out an Email I’ll be in Africa!

PS. Someone's house cat got into the MTC and missionaries were bringing it into the cafeteria which was pretty funny. Also, Elder Callister got a haircut from Elder Wensel which turned out a lot better than any of us were expecting.

Love you all,
Heath

Scripture/s of the week:
Phillipians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

D&C 84:88 - And whoso receiveth you there, I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.
