Missionary Setting Apart Blessing By Colin Steele

Heath Christopher Miller, by the authority of the Melchizedek priesthood I lay my hands upon your head and set you apart as a full-time missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, assigned to labor in the Botswana/Namibia mission.


And now leave a blessing upon you, that you are now set apart from the world, from your previous direction. Set apart from the previous desires that you’ve had and set apart to now represent your savior, Jesus Christ as one of his personal missionaries. That you will now represent His church, and bless you that you will be fully aware and understanding and appreciate this opportunity.


I bless you that you will have peace and comfort and assurance and confidence in knowing that this is the correct course for you and the correct place to be and place to be serving. That you will feel that confidence as you now go out to teach and watch over and act on behalf of the savior.


I bless you that your mind will be clear. That it will be free of anxiety and worry. That you will have peace. That you will have an open mind to receive direction from the Holy Ghost. I bless you that you will be aware of the thoughts that come to you. That you will be able to filter out the world. That you will be able to remove worldly thoughts and have the discipline of mind to do so. I bless you that as you do this that you will begin to build on your knowledge, your spiritual experiences, and that the light will continue to grow and develop and become the most important direction that you will have as a missionary.


I bless you that as you study and learn the gospel as you go through your time in the MTC that you will appreciate and have a clear understanding of these teachings. That they will make sense to you. That they will come together, that they will build.That you will have a memory and ability to recall the times that you are in need of.


I bless you that you will be able to help others and assist other missionaries as they learn and develop and that you will become a wonderful and skilled teacher. That in the moment that you are teaching the gospel and as you are sitting down and sharing these principles that they will come in a very clear way and an understandable way to those that you teach. That you will be aware of the level and understanding that these individuals will have. That you will be very able to adjust and be sensitive to what they need in the moment. That you will teach many different people. Children and many different people from many different backgrounds and that you will be able to understand and relate and be very focused on their needs. This will help you become a very effective teacher and very effective and skilled in your abilities. 


I bless you that you will be physically strong. That you will be protected from illness and sickness and free and protected from consequences of the areas that you are in. That you will be watched over. That angels will attend to you. And importantly that you will be very aware of the thoughts and impressions in the moment that you are in to know where you should be and know where you shouldn’t be. And that you will quickly respond to the spirit as it speaks to you. To watch over yourself and your companion and other missionaries. That you will be physically strong and protected. That your mind will be clear and open and able and that you will continually grow spiritually through your time as a missionary.


I bless you that you will have good relationships with others. That you will be able to help other missionaries. That you will be bonded and connected with the companions that you have and that you will be attentive to your mission president and his wife and responsive to their direction and their thoughts for you and that you will apply the  things that he gives to you. That you will be obedient to the commandments. Again, this will be important throughout your mission to maintain the spirit and to keep you in the right place physically and spiritually. 


I bless you that you will adjust quickly to this new place. That you will understand and appreciate and come to love the places that you will serve and the people that you will teach and baptize. I bless you that you will be able to love them and care for them. Again, seeing and being around many different people from many different places. And that they will feel of your love. That they will appreciate wanting to be with you and be around you and that this will be important for you.


I bless you with great joy and happiness in your service. That you will be able to experience wonderful personal connections and relationships. That these relationships will be eternal for you. That these special people will be bonded to you into the eternities. Not only them but generations after them. That blessings will flow to you. That through your time as a missionary you will grow and change and develop and come to gain skills and abilities that will be a benefit to you throughout your life. That blessings will flow to you and to your family as you share with them and that they will experience your mission through you and through your sharing with them. That your example will be important. Not only to other missionaries but to your family as a whole.


I bless you that you will now go forward and give all that you have and be willing to give. That as you do this, you will see your life change and see others as well.


I bless you again with peace, with comfort, with an outpouring of the spirit to be with you. That this will grow, and continue to grow, and be a light and a guide throughout your time of service.


I leave this blessing upon you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Tuesday: We began the day with weekly planning as we do every Tuesday, it's the worst part of the week. Afterwards we got lunch and hit the area. We had a lot of lessons today but the highlights were with Sticks and Kefilwe who we reviewed the baptismal interview with, they just need to get married. Then a yellow dot named Kago who I absolutely clapped with the Bible, with christlike love of course. Usually I try to avoid throwing bible verses back and forth since it typically leads to contention but every time he said something contrary to the true gospel of Jesus Christ I had to give him a few verses. Lastly, I'll highlight our lesson with Peaches, Habo, and Kealeboga who also always come to church. They're on date for baptism on the 22nd, they're a great family! BOTSWANA NAMIBIA MISSION

Dear Christopher and Julie Miller, It brings us great joy to announce that Elder Miller is preparing to return home after completing an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Botswana Namibia Mission. During his time of service, Elder Miller has experienced remarkable spiritual growth. He has strengthened his relationship with Jesus Christ while sharing the restored gospel with countless individuals. Furthermore, he has witnessed the transformative impact the Doctrine of Christ has had on himself, as well as the friends he has taught. Elder Miller has embraced both the challenges and triumphs of missionary life with steadfast faith. Week #88 Awesome Week ... Awesome Transfer.

Tuesday: We had a handful of lessons today, as well as weekly planning, and then cleaning the stake center since they were hosting a conference of sorts there. The 2 highlights were the twins who came into the chapel and asked for a tour, and our lesson with Shado/ her family. While we cleaned the chapel 2 identical twin brothers walked in and asked for a tour so we obliged, and then connected them with the missionaries for their area.  Our lesson with Shado was about temples and it was great, we even put 2 of her daughters on date which was amazing. Wednesday: We did our grocery shopping today and Elder Gibb decided he only wanted to eat hotdogs for the week. So I didn't have to buy any meat because he said I can have what's already in the freezer from last week. We had a great lesson with Sticks, Kefilwe, and Rasta. We taught them the W.O.W and law of chastity and they were really receptive. We...
